Timber Egg and Woodstack at the Annex in Williston, VT

Public Art at Williston’s New Park

Commissioned for a new park within a residential development in Williston, Vermont, these sculptures respond directly to the landscape and the traditions of the region. Each piece transforms familiar materials into a new expression, encouraging interaction and contemplation within the evolving environment.

Timber Egg

"Timber Egg" is a meditation on renewal and transformation. Constructed from hundreds of slices of Vermont cedar, the egg-like form represents rebirth, echoing the rejuvenation of the land itself. The piece honors the process of felling trees and repurposing them into something new, much like the development of the park around it. As the landscape grows in, the sculpture becomes an organic part of its surroundings, inviting people to engage with the space in fresh ways.

Woodstack

"Woodstack" reinterprets a familiar element of Vermont’s rural landscape—the neatly piled firewood stack—elevating it into a sculptural form. By taking this everyday structure and emphasizing its intricate patterns, the piece highlights the beauty often overlooked in routine arrangements. The sculpture bridges the natural and the human-made, celebrating the rhythms of Vermont life while offering a new perspective on a traditional practice.
